How much is morality based on conformity rather than....?
I believe that morality is sort of a balancing act between the primal basic morals, or your gut morals, and your "civilized" morals. Your primal morals would have you believe that killing is not inherently bad, but it depends who, how, and why you kill them. Your more modern morals say that killing is inherently evil. I myself believe that trying to impose any sort of moral code of a large number of people is detrimental to everyone, a person should follow his own code that is right for the situation, after all, does the people who make these rules *really* know the right thing to do in a situation is when they dont know the situation that you are experiencing? Follow your own morals that you find through experiences in life.
