The misconception of a stepmom.....your views?

My stepdaughter is everything to me. I don’t do things for a reaction. I don’t do things because I want to piss off her mother. I don’t do things for revenge. I do everything for my stepdaughter because I truly love her. I care about her as if she were my own child. Because even though I never gave birth to her myself, she’s always going to be what I consider, my first child. Because I was 21 yrs old and had a 2 yr old little girl that was in our care when she came to our house. When I buy her things, it’s because her face lights up and I love seeing her happy….not because I’m “buying her love”. When I put her in time out or yell at her because she broke the rules, I’m not “disciplining a child that’s not mine”….I’m helping reinforce rules that her mother and father have set and that any normal parent would have done. When I have a hard time with my feelings because her parents fight over her, it’s not because I’m insecure about myself or my position in the family….it’s because it suck
